The Görges KG in Neustadt was founded more than 125 years ago

80 million meters or 1.000 tons of flower wrapping paper are produced at Görges in Neustadt in Holstein and are disributed to over 4.000 customers in Europe every year. The company which was established in Elbing (West Prussia) exists for more than 125 years now.

DruckmaschinenThe root of the company are to be found in a papershop established 1877 by Paul Richard Görges and his wife Marie in a part of Germany which today belongs to Poland. The business started in Elbing, a town in the province of West Prussia. About 1890 the Görges family moved to Bromberg in the province of Posen. Here, Paul Richard Görges established a paper bag manufactury which converted into a machine operated factory in 1902. The company developed and prospered. In the course of political changes after World-War I Bromberg became part of Poland, the company had to be sold in 1922 and the family moved to Berlin. Here a new bag factory was founded. Again the company made good progress which was interrupted by the bombardement of the factory in World-War II. In 1949 the factory was rebuilt by Erwin Paul Max Görges. From 1959 the company has concentrated on the production of wrapping papers. In 1963 a seperate sales and marketing company, Görges KG, was established in Neustadt in Holstein in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. The production equipment was also moved to Neustadt in Holstein and began working in 1968. Since then the production facilities have steadily been enlarged.

Today the company ist managed by Christian Paul Görges born 1943 in Berlin. His two sons Christoph Paul born 1974 and Stefan Heinrich Otto born 1976 have lately joined the family business.Nowadays Görges ist specialized in flower wrapping paper. 25 employees are taking care of the production and distribution. 5 printig machines, 2 cutters, 3 rewinders and one coating unit ensure that nearly 100.000 counter rolls of flower wrapping paper in 22 different paper colours and 3.000 rolls of printed foil (OPP) are distributed to the customers every year.
